Sarajevo, 17 September 2026 – The President and members of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a meeting today with a seven-member delegation of the Ad hoc Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), headed by Jone Blikra (Norway, SOC), Head of Delegation.

The meeting was organized as part of the official pre-election mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, with the key objective of the visit being a detailed assessment of the course of the election campaign to date, as well as the technical readiness of the election administration to conduct the upcoming General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, scheduled for 4 October.

During the meeting, members of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina briefed the international officials on all activities completed and remaining within the election cycle. Particular emphasis was placed on the stability of the electoral process, transparency of the administration’s work, and efforts undertaken to safeguard the integrity of voting.

The PACE delegation expressed its support for the work of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina and emphasized the importance of conducting free, fair and democratic elections in accordance with European standards.

The visit of the Ad hoc Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe serves as a prelude to the arrival of a larger observation mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which, together with other international and domestic organizations, will observe Election Day on the ground throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of ensuring compliance with electoral rules and democratic procedures.
