Information for voters voting by mail

Sarajevo, 1 September 2026 Voters registered to vote by mail in the 2026 General Elections have already begun receiving ballot packages at their addresses, containing instructions on how to vote.

Due to the enquiries received by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we hereby inform voters voting by mail that the Candidate lists included in their ballot packages do not need to be returned and that they should follow the instructions provided to them.

The postmark on the envelope from the country from which the vote is cast must be dated no later than 4 October 2026, and the envelope must reach the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina no later than five days after the Election Day.

The instruction letter received by each voter voting by mail also contains, among other things, a note stating that voters should use a black or dark-colored marker when voting and that the use of red ink is prohibited due to the subsequent scanning of the ballot papers.
