Sarajevo, 20 August 2026 – The Election Observation Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) commenced its activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina today to observe the 2026 General Elections. On this occasion, an ODIHR delegation, led by the Head of Mission, Tana de Zulueta, visited the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina and met with the President and members of the CEC BiH.
Meetings between the CEC BiH and the ODIHR Election Observation Mission are held regularly throughout the election period to assess the legal framework and the implementation of ODIHR recommendations, and to monitor the conduct of the electoral process.
The OSCE/ODIHR International Election Observation Mission will assess the conduct of the elections to determine compliance with the law, OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards for democratic elections.
