Sarajevo, 19 August 2026 – The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina is simultaneously conducting several activities related to the conduct of the 2026 General Elections.

Following the printing and packaging of ballot papers, the distribution of ballot papers to voters residing outside Bosnia and Herzegovina who will vote by mail began yesterday. Following the expiry of the deadline for appeals and the finality of decisions of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a total of 48,078 voters residing outside Bosnia and Herzegovina have been registered, of whom 45,457 will vote by mail and 2,621 voters at diplomatic and consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We remind you that the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected approximately 5,000 applications for voting outside Bosnia and Herzegovina because they did not meet the conditions prescribed by law. A total of 39 appeals were filed, whereof four were upheld by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the others were rejected or dismissed by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina as unfounded or inadmissible.

Yesterday, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina published the certified candidate lists for the 2026 General Elections in the Official Gazette of BiH, No. 59/26. By 20 August, the candidate lists will also be published in the daily press, while the candidate lists – proportional representation have been published on the website of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The candidate lists – majority voting, as well as the compensation candidate lists, will also be published.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will keep the public informed in a timely manner about all activities related to the conduct of the 2026 General Elections.
