Sarajevo, 22 June 2026 – In accordance with the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today started with a mandatory multi-day training programme for the presidents and members of municipal/city election commissions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The training sessions will be held in Banja Luka, Tuzla, Sarajevo and Mostar during the period from 22 June to 3 July 2026.
The programme will cover topics related to the work of election administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with particular emphasis on the by-laws that will be applied in the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, scheduled for 4 October 2026.
In order to ensure that elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina are conducted professionally, transparently and in accordance with international standards, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina have jointly implemented a comprehensive capacity-building programme for municipal/city election commissions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including training activities. The objective of the programme has been to improve consistency in the implementation of electoral procedures, strengthen election administration and, ultimately, increase public confidence in the electoral process.
