Deadline for Submission of Applications for Certification of Political Parties and Independent Candidates Expires Today
Sarajevo, 22 May 2026 – In accordance with the Instruction on the Deadlines and Sequence of Electoral Activities for the 2026 General Elections, the deadline for submitting applications for the certification of political parties and independent candidates for participation in the 2026 General Elections, which will be held on Sunday, 4 October, expires today at 16:00 hours.
A preliminary overview of the submitted applications submitted by political parties and independent candidates will, following the update of the data, be published on the website of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the link “General Elections 2026”.
In accordance with the deadlines established in the aforementioned Instruction, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will carry out the necessary verifications and certify the applications of those political subjects that meet the legally prescribed conditions. Thereafter, the conditions will be met for the submission of applications for the certification of coalitions or lists of independent candidates. Specifically, the deadline for submitting applications for the certification of coalitions and lists of independent candidates is from 8 to 16 June 2026, until 16:00 hours.
