Sarajevo, 21 May 2026 – At its session held today, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Decision on the establishment of a provisional Unit for the Implementation of the Project on introducing specific election technologies into the electoral process of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a project team within the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the purpose of implementing the project on introducing specific election technologies into the electoral process of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project is managed by the President and members of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who constitute the Project Steering Committee.

The Unit for the Implementation of Specific Election Technologies has been established for the purpose of:

• coordinating activities related to the implementation of specific election technologies;
• overseeing contract implementation and safeguarding the interests of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
• coordinating with the contractor, municipal and city election commissions, and other institutions for the purpose of contract implementation;
• managing the technical, operational, and logistical aspects of the project;
• managing cybersecurity and the protection of information systems;
• coordinating testing, pilot elections, and operational activities;
• managing incidents and crisis situations;
• developing the institutional, technical, and operational capacities of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
• ensuring knowledge transfer and the long-term sustainability of the system;
• preparing reports, analyses, and recommendations for the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In connection with the above, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today also appointed the Project Manager of the Unit for the Implementation of the Project on introducing specific election technologies into the electoral process of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who will be responsible for the management, coordination, and operational oversight of the implementation of the project on introducing specific election technologies into the electoral process of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
