Main information-Early elections for the Mayor of the Municipality of Vareš

Sarajevo, 11.02.2026– Early elections for the Mayor of the Municipality of Vareš will be held on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

As of 26 January 2026, a total of 8,078 voters were registered in the Central Voters’ Register for the early elections for the Mayor of the Municipality of Vareš, including 67 voters registered to vote by mail from abroad.

A total of 20 polling stations are established for the purpose of conducting the early elections for the Mayor of the Municipality of Vareš, and 2 mobile teams will operate in the field.

The ballot paper contains the names of 5 candidates, as follows:

  1. Malik Rizvanović (SDA – Party of Democratic Action)
  2. Nurdin Begović (SBiH – Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina)
  3. Stela Terzić (HDZ BiH – Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina)
  4. Igor Šimić (Croatian Democratic Alliance)
  5. Dario Dodik – Independent candidate

The ban on publishing public opinion poll results begins 48 hours before the opening of polling stations and lasts until the closing of polling stations, i.e. from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 07:00 until Sunday, 15 February 2026, until the closing of polling stations.

The election silence period begins 24 hours before the opening of polling stations and lasts until their closing, i.e. from Saturday, 14 February 2026 at 07:00 until Sunday, 15 February 2026, until the closing of polling stations.

The estimated cost of holding the early elections for the Mayor of the Municipality of
