Early Elections for the president of the Republika Srpska annulled at 136 polling stations in 17 constituencies
Sarajevo, 24 December 2025 – At today’s session, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a Decision annulling the early elections for the president of the Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations in 17 constituencies.
The said Decision will be published on 24 December 2025 on the website of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, www.izbori.ba, and shall be deemed to have been delivered to all participants in the electoral process on the date of its publication.
The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will adopt a Decision on calling repeat elections after the Decision annulling the elections becomes final and binding.
An appeal against this Decision may be lodged with the Appellate Division of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina within two days from the date of publication of the Decision on the website of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The appeal shall be submitted through the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina and delivered by fax to +387 33 251 329, by e-mail to [email protected], or in person at the headquarters of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 7 Danijela Ozme Street, Sarajevo.
Based on the Report on the conducted verifications of political subjects that applied to participate in the early elections for the Mayor of the Municipality of Vareš, to be held on 15 February 2026, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today certified the applications of four political parties and one independent candidate.
The following political subjects have been certified:
- SBiH – Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina
- HDZ BiH – Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina
- SDA – Party of Democratic Action
- Dario Dodik – Independent Candidate
- Croatian Democratic Alliance
In accordance with the Instruction on deadlines for electoral activities for the conduct of early elections for the mayor of the Municipality of Vareš, an application for certification for participation in the elections by a coalition shall be submitted to the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina no later than 31 December 2025, by 4:00 p.m.
