Sarajevo, October 9, 2025 – The President of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jovan Kalaba, met today with the High Representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt.
They discussed the activities currently being carried out by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina in preparation for and implementation of the early elections for the President of Republika Srpska scheduled for November 23, 2025.
During the meeting, Mr. Kalaba expressed concern that the Council of Ministers of BiH had not approved the Proposal for the Rulebook on the internal organization of the Central Election Commission of BiH, as the lack of human resources in the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission of BiH has long been a major problem in carrying out the activities within the Commission’s jurisdiction.
Mr. Kalaba also informed Mr. Schmidt about the activities the Central Election Commission of BiH is implementing in the realization of a multi-year project introducing specific technologies into the election process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
High Representative Christian Schmidt expressed support for the work of the Central Election Commission of BiH, for which the President of the Central Election Commission of BiH, Jovan Kalaba, expressed his gratitude.
