Sarajevo, September 30, 2025 – The OSCE Mission to BiH, in cooperation with the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is implementing the project First Time Voting – “Electoral System in BiH,” which is being held in several municipalities as part of the project “Enhancing the Integrity of Electoral Processes in BiH in 2026 in accordance with ODIHR recommendations and international standards,” funded by the Governments of the USA, the United Kingdom, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Kingdom of Norway.

In this regard, the first forum was held on September 25, 2025, for final-year high school students in Travnik, and today for high school students in Cazin.

The purpose of this project is to provide young voters with insight into the basics of the electoral process in BiH and to familiarize them with the electoral system of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the voting procedure.

In addition to lectures about elections and the electoral process in BiH, participants also engage in voting simulations conducted at polling stations.

The lecturer at both forums in Travnik and Cazin was Dr. Suad Arnautović, a member of the Central Election Commission of BiH. During his visit to Cazin, Dr. Arnautović met with the mayor, Nermin Ogrešević, and the Cazin City Election Commission to discuss the possibility of reducing the number of polling stations, the operation of the voter registry center, and the storage of equipment for specific election technologies two days prior to election day.
