Sarajevo, 17 October 2024 – The postponed Local Elections in Fojnica, Kiseljak, Konjic, and Kreševo will be held on Sunday, 20 October 2024.
In the aforementioned municipalities, election silence will commence on Saturday, 19 October 2024, at 07:00 and will last until the closing of polling stations on Sunday, 20 October 2024, at 19:00.
The postponed elections will be conducted at 118 polling stations within the specified municipalities, including 16 mobile teams, with a total of 54,379 registered voters eligible to participate.
The Central Election Commission of BiH has issued a special Instruction regarding the identification and voting procedures for voters in the postponed elections. According to this Instruction, a voter whose personal identification documents have been destroyed due to a natural disaster may exercise their voting right by presenting a personal identification form with a photograph (LK-O-I4) issued by the competent Ministry of Internal Affairs. To obtain the personal identification form with a photograph (LK-O-I4), it is necessary for the voter to personally contact the relevant Ministry of Internal Affairs and report the destruction of their identification documents. Upon this notification, the Ministry will issue the personal identification form LK-O-I4.
To accommodate voters who have been evacuated, the Municipal Election Commission of Konjic will designate new polling locations for the polling stations Jasenik 127A029, Džanići 127A031, and Gornje Višnjevice 127A041. Voters will be informed of these changes accordingly. Voters from the aforementioned polling stations who have not been evacuated will exercise their voting rights through 6 mobile teams.
The Central Election Commission of BiH has appointed 8 coordinators on behalf of the Central Election Commission of BiH for the coordination and oversight of the postponed elections in the basic constituencies of Fojnica, Kiseljak, and Kreševo.
In relation to the conduct of the postponed elections in Fojnica, an Instruction has been adopted concerning the additional protection of ballots, which includes the use of an additional stamp on the ballots marked postponed elections. This measure has been introduced by the Central Election Commission due to the fact that the ballots were already in the possession of the Polling Station Committees albeit without any doubt regarding the compromise of the election materials.
