Warsaw, February 22, 2024 – A conference on the financing of the election campaign is being held in the Republic of Poland (Warsaw) in the period from February 21-23, 2024 organized by the OSCE/ODIHR within the framework of the project “Support to Electoral Reforms in the Western Balkans” organized by the OSCE/ODIHR. Dr. Irena Hadžiabdić, president of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mrs. Hasida Gušić, Head of the Audit Service are attending the conference.
Dr. Hadžiabdić was one of the panelists on the topic "Ensuring Due Oversight of Campaign Finance: Strategies to Enhance Effectiveness within Resources Constraints." The goal of the panel is to explore and devise practical, collaborative, and effective strategies aimed at ensuring robust oversight of campaign finance, particularly in the context of resource constraints.
The conference is divided into five sessions: “International Framework for Campaign Finance Regulation: Developments and Challenges across the Western Balkans”, “Restricting Campaign Finance: Practices related to Contributions and Expenditures Limits versus Circumvention Concerns”, “Disclosing and Reporting on Campaign Finance: Comparative Experiences and Digital Solutions”, “Ensuring Due Oversight of Campaign Finance: Strategies to Enhance Effectiveness within Resources Constraints”, “Refining Sanctions related to Campaign Finance for Effective Enforcement: Different Types of Violations or Irregularities”.
