Certificates of election awarded to newly elected councilors in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly

Sarajevo, 17.11.2022 - The constitutive session of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly was held today.

The newly elected councilors in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly were handed over certificates of election by Dr. Suad Arnautović, President of the BiH CEC and dr. Ahmet Šantić and Mr. Željko Bakalar, members of the BiH CEC. The Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly has 30 councilors.

In the coming days the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly will conduct a joint activity relating to the election of delegates to the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to the Instruction on the procedure for the implementation of indirect elections for bodies of authority in Bosnia and Herzegovina covered by the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, nine delegates from the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Assembly are elected to the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereof one Bosniak, five Croats, two Serbs and one from the ranks of Others. In accordance with the provisions of the BiH Election Law, this activity should be completed within one month from the date of confirmation of the election results, which means no later than December 2, 2022.

The elected officials are obliged, within 30 days from the date of publication of the confirmed results in the Official Gazette of BiH, to electronically enter data into the Asset Declaration form through the application available on the website of the BiH CEC. The elected official submits the completed asset declaration form to the Central Election Commission of BiH in electronic form, for which the online application is used, and then the asset declaration form is printed and signed and submitted to the Central Election Commission of BiH for verification.

Dr. Arnautović, dr. Ahmet Šantić and Mr. Željko Bakalar congratulated the newly elected councilors for their electoral success and the mandates they won.
