First shipment of equipment for specific election technologies arrives in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Sarajevo, 3 August 2026 – The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina informs the public that the first shipment of equipment for the introduction of specific election technologies into the electoral process has arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Following the completion of customs procedures, the equipment will be transported to the supplier's warehouse, where its initial configuration and technical testing will be carried out.
Upon the successful completion of testing, the requirements for the technical acceptance of the equipment by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be met.
The first pilot test of components of the election technology system is scheduled for 17 and 18 August 2026. On that occasion, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will organize a presentation of a part of the system.
The delivery of the equipment is planned to take place in several stages, comprising four delivery cycles for biometric voter identification devices and four delivery cycles for ballot scanners. The first shipment includes 150 biometric voter identification devices and 150 ballot scanners.
At the same time, the equipment intended for the data center of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has already been installed, and activities are currently under way to configure and establish the software environment required for the operation of the system.
The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to keep the public regularly informed about the implementation of project activities and all significant stages of the introduction of specific election technologies into the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
