Sarajevo, 15.04.2019– The two-day conference “2018 General Elections – Challenges of electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina” started today in Sarajevo. The conference is organized by the BiH Central Election Commission, with the financial support of the OSCE Mission to BiH and the Council of Europe.

 

The Conference was opened by Mr. Branko Petrić, president of the BiH CEC, and Ambassador Bruce Berton, Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH and Ambassador Drahoslav Stefanek, head of the CoE Office in BiH delivered a short speech.

 

Such conferences, which are also international, the BiH CEC is organizing after every elections for eighth time now, and main participants of the conference are members of municipal/city election commissions. Guests are representatives of State Election Commissions of Slovenia and North Macedonia, representatives of OSCE, USAID, IFES, Embassy of Turkey, Norway and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in BiH.

  • OSCE/ODIHR observation mission report,
  • Assessment of the 2018 General Elections, Council of Europe

  • Entry and control of election results, and
  • Problems of election commissions in conduct of 2018 General Elections.

 

The objective of the conference is to analyze the 2018 General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to sum up the conclusions and formulate proposals to improve the overall electoral process in BiH.
