MEETING COUNCIL OF EUROPE’S MONITORING MISSION – BiH CEC
Sarajevo, July 09, 2014 – The members of the BiH Central Election Commission met today in Sarajevo with the delegation of the Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe (Monitoring Committee). The delegation consisted of Caroline Ravaud, Head of the monitoring department (CoE’s Parliamentary Assembly), Egidijus Vareikis (Lithuania), Sir Roger Gale (United Kingdom) and Mary Anne Hennessey, Head of the CoE Office in Sarajevo.
The interlocutors sadly concluded that decision of the European Court for Human Rights in the Sejdić-Finci case was not implemented, and the members of the BiH Central Election Commission informed the guests from the Council of Europe about activities on preparation and organization of the 2014 General Elections, as well as about challenges and difficulties they face in their work.
