Submission of Asset Declarations by Elected Officials

Sarajevo, 14 July 2025 – In accordance with Article 15.7, paragraph (1) of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is prescribed that candidates elected at all levels of government are obliged, within 30 days from the date of publication of the certification of the mandate in the Official Gazette of BiH, to submit to the Central Election Commission of BiH a signed asset declaration on a prescribed form.

A total of 3,495 elected officials, including those who were allocated replacement mandates, were obliged to submit the asset declaration form after the publication of certification of the mandate, i.e., at the beginning of the mandate. To date, 3,133 asset declarations submitted through the web application have been verified, including those received for replacement mandates. Considering the ongoing process of allocation of replacement mandates and ex officio procedures, data on the assets of elected officials are updated successively as they are received.

Furthermore, in accordance with Article 15.8, paragraph (1) of the Election Law of BiH, a total of 3,816 elected officials were obliged to submit asset declarations at the end of their mandate for the previous 2020–2024 convocation, of which 3,386 complied with the law.

It should be noted that asset declarations at the end of the mandate are not manually entered into the application by the Central Election Commission of BiH, except in cases where an elected official submits the form electronically, in which case it is verified. Declarations submitted at the end of the mandate are not published on the website of the CEC BiH.

The Central Election Commission of BiH continues its activities in monitoring and publishing asset declarations in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, and calls on all elected officials to fulfill their legal obligations within the prescribed deadlines.
