Management of Main Counting Center appointed

Sarajevo, July 28, 2022 – The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has at its 36th session held on July 28, 2022 the director and deputy directors of the Main Counting Center for the conduct of the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina scheduled for Sunday, October 2, 2022. Goran Mišković was appointed as the director, and the deputy directors are Ermin Kos, Adi Agić and Bojan Simović.

Information on the processing of applications for voting outside Bosnia and Herzegovina has been acknowledge. According to the information, the processing of applications is nearing the end, and so far about 68.000 voters have met the conditions for voting outside BiH.

Today, the Central Election Commission of BiH adopted the Report on the implementation of education and information for voters outside BiH. Namely, six teams visited 15 diplomatic and consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Europe in June and July. The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized these visits in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to the education of voters outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, the goal of the aforementioned activities was to check the conditions for opening polling stations in the diplomatic and consular missions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially considering the fact that for these elections the interest in voting at the BiH diplomatic and consular missions as increased.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed its gratitude to the High Representative of the International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Christian Schmidt, for passing the Decision adopting the Law amending the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In connection with the aforementioned decision, conclusions were adopted according to which the services in the Secretariat of the CEC of BiH are tasked with carrying out certain activities until the Law amending the Election Law of BiH enters into force.

Dr. Suad Arnautović, president of the Central Electoral Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized that Mr. Schmidt consulted with the Central Electoral Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is extremely important, because all decisions made should be enforceable. These solutions are very implementable and the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has the capacity to implement them, underlined Dr. Arnautović.
