Framework agreement on printing and packing of the ballots signed
Sarajevo, June 8, 2022 – President of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Suad Arnautović and Director of "Unioninvestplastika" d.d. Sarajevo Jasmin Muminović signed today the Framework Agreement on printing and packaging of ballots for the 2022 General Elections f an approximate value of 1.634.069 KM with VAT.
Dr. Arnautović also signed the Agreement on the registration of ownership for the storage of the watermark roller. A total of 120 million tons of paper will be procured for the printing of about 14 million ballots.
At this moment, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina is both grateful and disappointed.
We publicly thank the High Representative of the International Community in BiH, Mr. Christian Schmidt, for making the Decision on approving the distribution of funds to cover expenditures related to the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2022, the Decision on the Law amending the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Decision on amending the Law on Financing the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We would also like to thank all the members of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council, as well as all the ambassadors to BiH who have continuously provided support to the Central Election Commission of BiH.
Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the international community have recognized and fully understood the unenviable situation in which the Central Election Commission of BiH was for many years now in connection with the provision of financial resources for the exercise of powers prescribed by law.
Finally, we can state that the Central Election Commission of BiH is becoming financially independent, at least in terms of provision of financial resources for the conduct of elections.
Unfortunately, the Central Election Commission of BiH is disappointed, and in this way expresses regret that the competent authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite a series of appeals, did not act in accordance with their obligations under the Election Law of BiH.
The general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
