Stjepan Mikić was born on 26 December, 1949 in Vidovici, municipality of Orašje, Posavina Canton, BiH. He completed elementary and high school in Vidovci and Orašje. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb at the History Department. Mr. Mikić is married, and the father of two adult children.
Jobs and responsibilities:
From 1975 he worked at the high school in Odžak, where he was Assistant Director from 1986 until 1991. After the first multiparty elections he was elected to the Council of Citizens of the BiH Assembly, and during the war on grounds of those elections he was also elected to the House of Representatives of the Croatian Republic Herceg-Bosnia and to the Constituent Assembly of the BiH Federation. From 1991 until 1996 he performed duties within police structures, as Head of the Public Safety Station in Odžak and Head of the Police Administration for Posavina. From 1996 until 2002 he was elected in two terms to the House of Representatives of the BiH Federation, in the first term as Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives of the BiH Federation Parliament, and in the second term as President of the Administrative Commission of that House. In the period from 1998 until 1999 he was the Superintendent at the Office of the Croat member of the BiH Presidency. He has passed the state administration exam. During previously held elections, he assisted the administration of the latter, especially at the local level. For his work he has received numerous acknowledgments, medals and credits. On August 31, 2005 the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly elected him a member of the BiH Central Election Commission.
