COOPERATION BETWEEN BIH CEC AND CEC OF UKRAINE MADE OFFICIAL
Sarajevo, September 15, 2012 – Agreement of cooperation between the BiH Central Election Commission and the Central Election Commission of Ukraine was signed today in Sarajevo. The agreement was signed by Mr. Branko Petric, president of the BiH Central Election Commission and Mr. Andrii Mahera, deputy chair of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine.
The Agreement regulates exchange of experience in the area of elections and referenda, promotion of legal culture of participants in electoral process and referenda, improvement of training of elections’ administrators, etc.
The parties to the Agreement are convinced that free elections, based on ensuring constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, while respecting the norms of electoral legislation, are one of the most important elements of democratic elections.
The Agreement on cooperation of the two commissions strives to deepen and develop cooperation in the area of elections, and to contribute to further development between the two countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine.
