Procedure to elect president and vice president of Federation of BiH has not commenced
Sarajevo, 12.04.2019 – The BiH Central Election Commission has at yesterday’s session concluded that the 2018 General Elections are still not completed, more concretely the indirect elections are still not completed in the part relating to the FBiH president and vice president. The procedure to elect FBiH president and vice president, set forth in Chapter 9A of the BiH Election Law, still hasn’t commenced.
The BiH Central Election Commission reminds that Article 2.9, point 6 of the BiH Election Law sets forth that the BiH CEC verifies and certifies the lists of candidates and the candidates for all levels of direct and indirect elections in BiH covered by the BiH Election Law.
The same Article prescribes that the BiH CEC verifies and confirms results of all direct and indirect elections, verifies that the elections were conducted in line with the law, publishes the results and issues certificates to persons who won the mandate.
Only after the FBiH Parliament conducts the procedure prescribed by Chapter 9A of the BiH Election Law and after the BiH CEC publishes the results of elections for president and vice president of FBiH it can be concluded that the 2018 General Elections are completed.
