Conference on voter registration

Sarajevo, 29.05.2018 – The OSCE Mission to BiH and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) organized today a Conference on voter registration in Vlašić. The BiH CEC welcomes the efforts of the international organizations to contribute to the update of the voters register, which represents direct support to the continuous activities of the BiH CEC.

 

Representatives of all relevant institutions in BiH concerning the voters registration attended the Conference including the representatives of municipal election commissions, centers for voters’ register, registry offices, ministries of interior and Agency for identification documents, records and data exchange of BiH. Dr. Irena Hadžiabdić represented the BiH CEC at the conference.

 

The Conference had two related thematic units “State of the CVR” and “Accuracy of data in the CVR”. The participants discussed challenges concerning the regular maintenance of the voters’ registers, roles and responsibility of different actors with the focus on removal of the names of deceased persons and registration of voters outside BiH, and possible manipulations.
