SOCE/ODIHR Delegation visiting BiH

Sarajevo, November 14, 2017 – A delegation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina led by Mr. Alexander Shlyk, Director of the ODIHR Elections Department. Dr. Irena Hadžiabdić, president of the BiH CEC met the ODIHR delegation today.

 According to Mr. Shlyk, this visit to BiH is organized within the first stage of the ODIHR Project “Support to Elections in the Western Balkans” that envisage discussions with the representatives of relevant institutions and experts about how ODIHR can provide support in implementation of its recommendations in the territory of the Western Balkans. This three-year project is the ODIHRs effort to provide support in implementation of its recommendations in the territory of the Western Balkans. The ODIHR’s recommendations relate to election administration, voter registration and the role and work of the media during the election campaign.

Dr. Hadžiabdić informed the ODIHR delegation bout the status of implementation of the recommendations made by the ODIHR observation mission after the 2014 General Elections in BiH.
