Meeting between Delegation of Congress of local and regional authorities of the Council of Europe and the BiH Central Election Commission
Sarajevo, 25.05.2017 – President of the BiH Central Election Commission, dr. Irena Hadžiabdić and members dr. Ahmet Šantić, Branko Petrić and dr. Suad Arnautović met today with the delegation of Congress of local and regional authorities of the Council of Europe, which included Anders Knape, president of the Chamber of local authorities, Leen Verbek, chairperson of the Board for monitoring, Steward Dikson, head and rapporteur of the 2016 Local Elections observation mission, and officers of the Congress Renate Zikmund, Segolene Tavel, Eleonore Park-Edstrom and Alain Hubers.
The interlocutors discussed recommendations from the report of the observation mission of the Council of Europe’s Congress of local and regional authorities: “Observation of local elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina – October 2016”. The report was presented to and adopted at the plenary session of the Congress in Strasbourg on March 31, 2017.
Members of the BiH Central Election Commission informed the Congress’ delegation about current activities on implementation of the recommendations from the aforementioned report of the observation mission.
