CERTIFICATION OF POLITICAL PARTIES FOR PARTICIPATION IN 2016 LOCAL ELECTIONS

Sarajevo, June 2, 2016 – The BiH Central Election Commission has at today’s session continued certification process of political parties’ and independent candidates’ applications to participate in the Local Elections in BiH, scheduled for Sunday, October 2, 2016.

Total of 11 additional political parties that had several shortcomings in the applications and that removed the latter within the given deadline were certified today. They were certified only for the constituency for which they removed the shortcomings, otherwise their application was rejected.

The verification procedure for 44 political parties that were partially certified in the first round was conducted, and they were today certified by an additional decision for the constituency in which they removed shortcomings, i.e. if they submitted sufficient number of valid voters’ signatures of support for these constituencies, otherwise their applications were rejected.

The BiH Central Election Commission has today rejected application of the Democratic Family Party, because it failed to remove shortcoming in its application within the given deadline, i.e. it did not submit sufficient number of valid voters’ signatures of support.

After all shortcoming were removed, the applications of additional 38 independent candidates were certified today. Application of independent candidate Ibro Gurda was rejected because he failed to remove a shortcoming in its application i.e. he did not submit sufficient number of valid voters’ signatures of support.

After all decision become final, the BiH Central Election Commission will publish an overview of all certified political subjects by constituencies on its website www.izbori.ba.
